About WOCMAD
Founded in 2020, Women of Color Making a Difference (WOCMAD) began with 11 Black women united by a shared commitment to philanthropy. The idea was sparked when Sandra Roberts-Taylor sought guidance from LaDawn Sullivan, Director of the BRIC Fund, on joining an existing giving circle at The Denver Foundation. Instead, LaDawn encouraged Sandra to start her own and WOCMAD was born.
Now in its early stages of defining its identity and priorities, WOCMAD has already achieved its initial fundraising goals. As we continue to grow, we’re excited to lead, learn, and make a lasting impact together.
